Eric Wright Construction is on site in Chorley delivering the £11million Market Walk scheme and a £9million extra care development. Maple Grove Developments has also secured a 4.4 acre mixed use opportunity surrounding the £7million ‘Wainwright Way’ link road into Blackburn town centre. In addition, the Group’s Facilities Management (FM) division was awarded a supply partner position on Fusion 21’s £290million, four-year framework and is working with Derian House to manage its property portfolio more effectively. Visuals for Market Walk View from Orchard Street Plans Outlined for £3million Leyland Scheme Major improvements around Leyland railway station are being discussed, with initial works including redeveloping the former ticket office into a business hub and bar over two floors. The scheme is a partnership between Leyland Town Team and South Ribble Borough Council. Further phases will include a train carriage that would act as a community centre, improved access, enhanced bus stops, coach stops and taxi facilities, additional parking and junction upgrades to Chapel Brow and Golden Hill to make the overall area safer. Situated along to the West Coast Main Line, the scheme will put Leyland on the map as a great place to visit, work and live for the 75 million people that pass through every year. The Folly Coffee House Opens Sisters Lisa and Pauline Mallinson have joined forces with their dad, Steven Prescott, to open The Folly Coffee House and Delicatessen in Worden Park, Leyland. The cafe is in the restored stable, dating back to the 1700s and it serves a full menu, which is all sourced locally. Accrol Creates 80 Jobs Tissue manufacturer, Accrol Group, has agreed a new lease on a 168,000 sq ft facility in Leyland that will create 80 new jobs. The property houses two high speed tissue converting lines, with potential to add a further four if needed, along with warehousing space for finished goods. 50 Years of Ribble Fuel Oils Ribble Fuel Oils is celebrating 50 years as the North West’s leading fuel supplier. The company, based at Walton Summit, delivers fuels to commercial and agricultural businesses. NEWS IN BRIEF Contractor Builds on Success Bamber Bridge-based Conlon Construction is underway with a number of stand-out schemes across Lancashire including its appointment to deliver the new Preston Markets. Beating strong local and national completion, Conlon is underway with the £multi-million development that will provide a huge boost to the local and regional economy. A short walk away, Conlon is also on site at the University of Central Lancashire’s (UCLan) £8.15million social spaces project. The new facilities will improve the campus experience and provide a place for staff and students to come together in a relaxed environment. The scheme is due to complete later this year and forms part of the University’s £200million Masterplan.
